GCC Exchange Bur Dubai: 2 Branches, Hours, Fees & Services
GCC Exchange has two branches in Bur Dubai, and both open every day from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Bur Dubai 1 is inside the Wholesale Textiles Market, and Bur Dubai 2 is on Al Hisa Street in Meena Bazaar.
The services are the same at both: international money transfers, foreign currency exchange, WPS salary payments and bill payments. Bur Dubai 2 opened in December 2025 as the company’s 26th UAE branch.
Below you will find both addresses and phone numbers, the exact charges for exchange and transfers, the ID you need, and what to do if a transfer has to be changed.

Which branch to visit

Choose whichever is closer to where you already are. The two shops are about 230 metres apart and offer the same services at the same hours, so there is no price or service reason to prefer one.
Bur Dubai 1 (Wholesale Textiles Market)
Bur Dubai 1 is the company’s first branch in Bur Dubai. It is Shop 8 on the ground floor of the Al Fahidi Building, directly opposite Grand Nova Hotel. The Bur Dubai 1 map pin marks the shop for walking directions inside the market.
Bur Dubai 2 (Meena Bazaar)
Bur Dubai 2 is Shop 2 on the ground floor of Esbij 93, on Al Hisa Street. It is the better pick if you are shopping or working around Meena Bazaar. Use the Bur Dubai 2 map pin to navigate to the door.
Getting there
The closest Dubai Metro stop is Al Fahidi on the Green Line, about 5 to 7 minutes on foot from Meena Bazaar. Al Ghubaiba, one stop south, is the other station that serves the textile and bazaar streets.

Abra boats from Deira land at Bur Dubai Abra Station, at the edge of the Textile Souk, which makes the creek crossing a workable route if you are coming from the Deira side.

Fees, rates & timing
Charges at the counter follow the company’s published key fact statements. The exchange rate is separate from the fee, and the rate calculator on the website refreshes every 5 minutes.
| Service | Charge | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Currency exchange (buying or selling) | AED 3 to AED 5 | Instant once funds are received |
| Transfer to a UAE bank account | AED 16 including VAT | 24 to 48 hours |
| SWIFT transfer (USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, JPY) | AED 32 including VAT at the minimum, AED 350 plus VAT at the maximum | 4 to 5 days |
| Cash pickup and instant transfers | From AED 0, depending on amount, country and provider | Instant, or by value date |
If the recipient needs the money the same day, use cash pickup or an instant-transfer partner. A SWIFT transfer takes 4 to 5 days.
Overseas banks can still deduct their own fees. The charge type you pick decides who bears them:
- OUR: you pay all charges
- SHA: you pay the sending bank’s charges and the recipient pays the receiving bank’s
- BEN: the recipient pays everything
Multi-currency remittances also carry a back-end deduction of USD 40 to USD 80.
Documents to bring
- Residents: a valid Emirates ID, which is required to start a remittance
- Visitors: a passport with a UAE visa
- Companies: a letter signed by the company’s authorized signatory naming the person who will transact
- Cheque payments for currency exchange: the cheque must be current dated, crossed and made out to GCC Exchange, and the transaction completes only after it clears
- Recipient details: the full payout details of whoever receives the money, because errors or missing information can lead to penalties and delays
A transfer flagged as suspicious can be held until you supply documents that explain it.

Sending money at the branch
- Take your Emirates ID, or your passport with a UAE visa.
- Tell the counter staff the destination country, how the money should be paid out (bank credit, cash pickup or an instant partner) and the recipient’s details.
- Pay the amount plus the service charge.
- Count any cash you receive and read the receipt before you leave the counter. The details printed on it are treated as final, and signing it confirms they are correct.
- Keep the original receipt. You need it for any cancellation or enquiry.
Using the app or website instead
GCC Exchange’s mobile app and the Web TT website handle remittances without a branch visit. The payment options for an online transfer are Aani, net banking, easy bank transfer, debit card, online wire transfer and Pay@Branch.
Registration works with a verified UAEPASS account, or with the Customer Code and loyalty card number issued by GCC Exchange plus your registered mobile number. OTPs protect each login and transaction, and staff never ask you for them.
Changes, cancellations & complaints
- A tracer, amendment or cancellation costs AED 190 where it applies.
- A cancellation needs a signed written request with the reason, submitted with the original receipt.
- Refunds are paid in AED only, at the lower of the original rate or the current buying rate, after charges are deducted.
- General complaints must be raised within 14 days of the transaction, and unauthorized transactions within 30 business days.
- A remittance counts as complete unless a claim arrives within 3 months for cash payout or 6 months for bank transfers.
- Exchanged currency can only be returned or bought back as a new transaction at the prevailing rate.
Customer care takes complaints on 600 522 049 and at customercare@gccexchange.com.
