Dubai Tram & Palm Jumeirah Monorail

The Dubai Tram has 11 stations, numbered 01 to 11, between Al Sufouh and Jumeirah Lakes Towers. It meets the Red Line at Sobha Realty (R36) and DMCC (R37) and runs from 6 AM to 1 AM Monday to Saturday and from 9 AM to 1 AM on Sunday.

The map draws the Palm Jumeirah Monorail as a separate line between Palm Gateway and Atlantis Aquaventure.

How to read the map & plan a trip

Each station has a code: R for the Red Line, G for the Green Line and a plain number from 01 to 11 for the tram. Four features of the map matter when you plan a journey:

  • Zones: the map divides Dubai into 7 zones, and the fare depends on how many zones the journey crosses.
  • Numbering gaps: codes skip numbers. R26 Business Bay is followed by R29 Garmin and then R31 Equiti, so subtracting codes does not give the number of stops.
  • Station names: many follow naming-rights sponsors rather than districts. ADCB (R20), for example, is the nearest station to the Karama fish market, about 1.3 km away.
  • Other transport: the map also draws bus lines, the ferry route, bus and water bus stations, airports and covered car parks.

To plan a journey, enter your start and end stations in the journey planner and tick Metro under route options. It returns the route and any transfers, and the S’hail app does the same on a phone.

Then ride in four steps:

  1. Find your start and end stations on the map and note their codes and zones.

  2. If they sit on different lines, change at Union or BurJuman.

  3. Tap your nol card on the gate reader to enter, and tap it again at your exit gate so the fare is deducted.

  4. On the Red Line beyond National Paints, board the train whose destination matches your branch: Expo 2020 or Life Pharmacy.

Station names that changed since 2024

Six stations changed names between September 2024 and September 2026, so a map from early 2024 shows the old names.

Old name Current name Line Renamed
Mashreq InsuranceMarket Red September 2024
Al Khail Al Fardan Exchange Red April 2025
GGICO Al Garhoud Red April 2025
UAE Exchange Life Pharmacy Red May 2025
Jebel Ali National Paints Red July 2025
ONPASSIVE Garmin Red September 2026

Life Pharmacy is a terminus of the Red Line, and National Paints is the junction where the Expo 2020 branch leaves it.

Garmin took over the former ONPASSIVE name on 7 September 2026. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is updating signs, maps and apps through the end of November 2026, so both names are in use until then.

Interchange stations & busiest stops

Four stations connect lines: Union (R18/G20) and BurJuman (R19/G26) join the Red and Green lines, and Sobha Realty (R36) and DMCC (R37) join the Red Line to the tram.

BurJuman (17.8 million riders) and Al Rigga (13.8 million) handled the most riders in 2025. On the Red Line, the top three were Union (13.6 million), Mall of the Emirates (11.2 million) and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall (10.9 million). Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall (R25) serves the tower and the mall, including Fashion Avenue.
