Al Rostamani Balance Check: App, ATM, Portal & Phone

al rostamani balance check

Every balance check method for this topic looks interchangeable until you try one with the wrong card. That is the mistake that wastes people’s time. Al Rostamani International Exchange issues the RPay salary card, while Magnati prepaid cards and FAB Ratibi cards run on different systems with different check methods. The fastest free check for an RPay card is the Al Rostamani Int Exchange app, usually called the ARIE app. The rest of this article matches each method to the card it actually works for, so you do not spend an afternoon entering card details into the wrong portal.

Which card are you holding

Check the card in your hand before picking a method. The RPay card is Al Rostamani International Exchange’s WPS salary card, an EMV chip-and-PIN card that employers use to pay wages under the UAE Wage Protection System. It carries zero-balance facility and partial salary withdrawal, and it includes AED 25,000 accidental insurance for holders.

A Magnati prepaid card is a different product. Its balance lives on the Magnati system, so the ARIE app will not show it. A FAB Ratibi card is also different: it belongs to First Abu Dhabi Bank, and its SMS and phone routes belong to FAB, not to Al Rostamani. If a guide tells you to text a short code for an RPay balance, it has mixed up the card types. RPay sends SMS alerts when salary credits and transactions land, but it has no SMS balance enquiry service of its own.

Check in the ARIE app

The app is the default method for RPay holders because it shows the balance plus transaction history, and balance checks in it are free and unlimited.

Hands using the ARIE app on a smartphone
  1. Download the Al Rostamani Int Exchange app from the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery.
  2. Register as a new user with your Emirates ID number and your RPay card details.
  3. Log in to the app.
  4. Open the menu and select Balance Check, or go to My Cards.
  5. Enter your RPay card details if prompted. Your balance appears on screen.

The same app also handles international money transfers and mobile top-ups, and it can show C3 card balances for holders who also carry a C3 card. If the app will not accept your registration, the usual cause is a mismatch between the Emirates ID number and the card details your employer registered. Re-enter both exactly as printed, and use the phone route below if it still refuses.

Check on the Magnati portal

Use this route only for a Magnati prepaid card. It does not work for RPay cards.

  1. Open the Magnati prepaid cards enquiry portal.
  2. Enter the last 4 digits of your card number.
  3. Enter the Card ID printed for the card.
  4. Complete the captcha check.
  5. Submit the form to see the balance.

The portal asks for a Card ID in addition to the card digits, which is the detail most people miss on a first attempt. If you do not have the Card ID, the card paperwork from your employer or the card issuer is the place to find it, since support cannot verify a card from the last 4 digits alone.

Check at an ATM

ATMs suit holders who also want cash, or who cannot use the app.

  1. Insert your RPay card into a supported ATM.
  2. Enter your 4-digit PIN.
  3. Select Balance Inquiry.
  4. Read the balance on screen.

RPay cards work at ATMs of Emirates NBD, Emirates Islamic, FAB, and RAKBank, and Al Rostamani also deploys its own ATMs in large labour camps. Balance checks at partner machines are free. Fees may apply at non-partner ATMs, so an out-of-network check is worth avoiding when a partner machine or the app is available. A card that the ATM rejects outright is usually inactive or blocked, not empty: an inactive card rejects transactions even when a balance has been loaded, and that needs the branch or phone route, not another ATM attempt.

Call or visit a branch

Call 600 540 004 from inside the UAE, or +971 4 454 3203 from outside the UAE. Have your card number and Emirates ID ready for identity verification, then request a balance inquiry. Email works for non-urgent queries only, since a balance answer needs identity verification that email cannot complete.

Al Rostamani exchange branch interior counters

A branch visit needs the same two items: your RPay card and your Emirates ID. Ask at the counter for a balance inquiry. Branch balance inquiries are free. Find the nearest branch through the branch locator before travelling, since branch hours vary by location.

Problems that stop a balance check

A failed check usually traces to one of four causes. Working through them in order saves a second failed attempt.

  • Wrong system for the card. A Magnati card in the ARIE app, or an RPay card on the Magnati portal, will not return a balance no matter how many times the details are re-entered. Match the method to the card first.
  • Unregistered app account. The ARIE app needs a one-time registration with Emirates ID number and card details before the first balance check. A login attempt before registration fails by design.
  • Card not yet active. A newly issued card that has not been activated rejects ATM and app checks alike. Activation sits with the employer or issuer, so the phone route is the fastest way to confirm the card’s status.
  • Blocked or damaged card. A card blocked for a wrong-PIN lock or physical damage cannot be checked at an ATM. Call 600 540 004 or visit a branch with the card and Emirates ID to resolve it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I check an Al Rostamani balance by SMS

No SMS balance enquiry service exists for RPay cards. RPay sends SMS alerts for salary credits and transactions, but a balance reply by text is a feature of other cards, such as FAB Ratibi, not of RPay. Use the ARIE app, an ATM, the phone route, or a branch.

What is the Al Rostamani customer service number

Call 600 540 004 from inside the UAE, or +971 4 454 3203 from outside the UAE. Keep your card number and Emirates ID ready for verification.

Which ATMs accept the RPay card

Emirates NBD, Emirates Islamic, FAB, and RAKBank ATMs accept RPay cards, along with Al Rostamani’s own ATMs in large labour camps. Partner-machine balance checks are free, while non-partner machines may charge a fee.

Does the RPay card include insurance

All RPay card holders receive AED 25,000 accidental insurance at no extra cost.

Why does the Magnati portal ask for a Card ID

The portal verifies prepaid cards with two pieces of data: the last 4 digits of the card number and the Card ID. Both are required, plus a captcha check, before it returns a balance.

Keep the app as the default

For an RPay card, the ARIE app answers the question in under a minute, free, with transaction history attached. The portal belongs to Magnati cards, the ATM belongs to cash withdrawals, and the phone and branch routes belong to blocked cards and identity problems. Pick the method that matches the card in your hand and the check goes through first time.
