ADCB SWIFT Code Dubai: Which Code to Use
Use ADCBAEAAXXX when you send money to an ADCB account in Dubai. It is the bank’s head office code, and it routes payments to personal, salary and business accounts whichever branch holds them.
ADCB has a second code that names Dubai, ADCBAEAA060. It belongs to the bank’s Dubai trade finance unit, so an ordinary account never needs it.
The SWIFT code only identifies the bank. The recipient’s IBAN identifies the account, and ADCB uses the IBAN for all transfers to and from the UAE.

ADCB branch & department SWIFT codes

ADCB’s Dubai retail branches, including the ones in malls and business districts, don’t carry SWIFT codes of their own. The branch where an account was opened makes no difference to the code.
Which ADCB SWIFT code to use
The right code depends on the type of payment and on how long the SWIFT field on the payment form is.
- Personal, salary, savings or business current account: ADCBAEAAXXX, whether the account was opened in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or another emirate.
- A form with an 8-character BIC field: ADCBAEAA. It is the same code as ADCBAEAAXXX, because XXX only pads the code to 11 characters.
- A form with an 11-character field: ADCBAEAAXXX. Leaving the XXX off can make some systems reject the entry.
- A trade finance payment handled by ADCB in Dubai: ADCBAEAA060, and only when the instructions you received name that exact code.
When the payment is going to a normal account and you are unsure, ADCBAEAAXXX is the answer.

How the ADCB code is built
Every SWIFT/BIC code is 8 or 11 characters, and each block carries one piece of information.
- ADCB identifies the bank.
- AE is the country code for the United Arab Emirates.
- AA is the location code ADCB uses on all its codes, including the Dubai one. A Dubai account therefore shows the same first eight characters as an Abu Dhabi account.
- XXX or a three-character branch code closes an 11-character code. XXX marks the primary office, and 060 marks the Dubai trade finance office.
The first eight characters, ADCBAEAA, are the same everywhere. Only the last three change.
ADCB details to give the sender
A sender needs the SWIFT code and the IBAN together, plus the account holder’s name exactly as ADCB holds it.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Beneficiary name | Exactly as on the ADCB account |
| IBAN | 23 characters: AE, two check digits, 003, then the 16-digit account portion |
| SWIFT/BIC | ADCBAEAAXXX |
| Bank name | Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank |
| Bank address | ADCB Building, Salam Street, Abu Dhabi |
| Beneficiary address | Your Dubai address |
Dubai has no postal code, so enter 00000 if a sender’s form insists on one.
ADCB account numbers are 12 or 14 digits long, and the bank’s IBAN generator builds the full IBAN from that number. A 12- or 14-digit account number is not an IBAN, and it doesn’t belong in the IBAN field.
Sending money from an ADCB account
The ADCB Mobile Banking App handles international transfers in two stages: add the beneficiary first, then send the money.

- Log in to the ADCB Mobile Banking App and tap Transfers in the bottom menu.
- Choose New Beneficiary and select the type of transfer.
- For an international transfer, pick the destination country from the drop-down list.
- Enter the beneficiary’s IBAN. The bank details fill in automatically.
- Add the beneficiary’s details to save them.
- Go back to Transfers and choose the saved beneficiary.
- Select the account to debit, enter the amount and any other details.
- Review the transfer and enter the one-time password sent by SMS or email.
Transfers routed over SWIFT can carry an additional fee.
Choosing who pays the charges
An international transfer asks who covers the intermediary costs, and the two options split them differently.
- Shared: you pay ADCB’s charges, and the beneficiary bank and any correspondent bank can deduct their own charges from the amount that arrives.
- Our: you pay ADCB’s charges, the beneficiary bank’s charges and ADCB’s correspondent bank charges, so the recipient receives the full amount.
Mistakes that delay a transfer
Most failed or delayed transfers trace back to one of these four.
- Using ADCBAEAA060 for a personal or salary account.
- Typing the 12- or 14-digit account number where the IBAN belongs.
- Entering ADCBAEAA in a field that expects 11 characters.
- A beneficiary name that differs from the name on the account.

What is the ADCB SWIFT code for Dubai?
The code is ADCBAEAAXXX for any ADCB account in Dubai. Where a form accepts only 8 characters, enter ADCBAEAA.

Yes. ADCBAEAA is the 8-character form of the head office code, and XXX is the three-character ending that completes the 11-character version.
