PPC FAB Digital Banking: Prepaid Cards, App & Online Access

Ppc FAB digital banking

Which FAB digital channel you use depends on what you hold. A Ratibi or Payment prepaid card is checked on a prepaid card portal, an employer manages those cards through corporate online banking, and a FAB account or credit card holder uses FAB Mobile and Online Banking.

“PPC” is the shorthand for First Abu Dhabi Bank’s prepaid cards, which is why searches for it mix card questions with app and login questions. The two cards behind the term are Ratibi, a salary card, and the Payment prepaid card, a company card.

The sections below sort the channels by who uses them, so you can go straight to the one that matches your card or your role.

The two prepaid cards behind PPC

Ratibi and the Payment prepaid card both work without a personal bank account, but they serve different users. Ratibi pays employee salaries, and the Payment card covers company spending.

Ratibi salary card

Ratibi is a salary payroll card for employees who earn up to AED 5,000. The salary lands on the card, so the employee needs no bank account, and a free SMS arrives on every salary credit.

Three conditions apply before a card is issued:

  • The employer holds a corporate account with FAB.
  • The employee is a UAE resident.
  • The employee’s KYC details are complete and up to date.

The card carries free personal accident cover. Accidental death or permanent total disability pays 5 times the monthly salary or up to AED 25,000. Hospitalisation of at least 24 hours after an accident pays AED 50 a day for up to 30 days, capped at AED 1,500, and repatriation of mortal remains is covered up to AED 5,000.

Payment prepaid card

The Payment prepaid card is a company card for manual petty cash and recurring payments. It needs no activation, and holders get free statements and free 24/7 access to the prepaid online portal.

Security depends on how the card is used. A chip and PIN card protects against skimming, online purchases are confirmed with an OTP, and companies can set authorisation limits and controls through corporate payment and expense management tools.

Checking a prepaid card balance online

Both prepaid cards are checked on the Magnati prepaid card enquiry portal, which is free. It does not ask for the full 16-digit card number.

  1. Open the Magnati prepaid card enquiry portal.
  2. Enter the last four digits of the card number.
  3. Enter the Card ID, which is separate from the card number.
  4. Complete the captcha and submit.

Ratibi has no SMS shortcode for a live balance. The only SMS it sends is the automatic salary-credit alert. Salary cardholders can also run a Ratibi salary check at a FAB ATM, in the Payit app, or by phone, and Payit is the FAB wallet app to try when FAB Mobile does not show the card.

Account holders use a different route: a FAB balance check runs through FAB Mobile, Online Banking, SMS, or an ATM.

How employers manage prepaid cards online

Employers manage both cards through FAB’s corporate online banking, and named individuals at the company receive access under agreed terms and conditions. The module shows real-time transaction activity and accepts payment files in a secured environment.

Services available in the online module:

  • New card requests, individual or bulk
  • Card status changes, individual or bulk
  • Card modification and replacement
  • PIN resets
  • Dispute form uploads
  • Load and reload to cards

Applying for Ratibi cards

Applications run through the employer, and the paperwork is short:

  1. Complete the Ratibi application form and the employee details Excel sheet.
  2. Complete the iBanking corporate online banking application to get online card management access.
  3. Submit everything at a FAB branch or community banking branch.

The nearest branch shows up in the FAB branch locator.

WPS & non-WPS salary payments

WPS salary payments are processed electronically in line with UAE regulations, through a single bank transfer in local currency. Ratibi is 100% compliant with the UAE government’s WPS guidelines, and a dedicated help desk supports the process.

Non-WPS payroll in local currency is also supported. Salary files go in bulk through the electronic channel with a single debit entry on the employer account, and individual entries are visible only to restricted users.

Lost or retained cards

An ATM that keeps a Ratibi card destroys it through the receiving bank, and the employer applies for the replacement. Employers also act as the point of contact between their staff and FAB, and they are expected to teach employees how to use and handle the card.

FAB Mobile & Online Banking for account holders

FAB Mobile is FAB’s banking app for iPhone and Android, available in English and Arabic from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery. One customer can register it on up to three devices.

Registration starts from a customer number, a debit card number, or a credit card number. A Ratibi or Payment cardholder with no FAB account has none of those, and uses the prepaid portal instead.

Registering for FAB Mobile

  1. Download FAB Mobile from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery.
  2. Open the app and start registration with your customer number (sent to your registered email), debit card number, or credit card number.
  3. Verify your identity with your Emirates ID and a video selfie.
  4. Log in with your PIN, or with fingerprint or Face ID once enabled.

Someone with no FAB product can still open an account from the app using only an Emirates ID. After the security verification, a personal account opens in minutes.

What FAB Mobile covers

  • Balances and e-statements for accounts and cards
  • Card activation, freezing, and blocking with replacement
  • Card controls for in-store, online, international, and ATM transactions
  • Travel alerts, so a card stays active abroad
  • Utility bill payments and Easy Payment Plans
  • FAB Rewards earning and redemption
  • Islamic accounts and iSave account sign-up
  • Document uploads for passport, visa, and Emirates ID, processed in 3 to 4 working days
  • Branch and ATM locator

Most services are free, though certain transfers carry a charge.

FAB Online Banking

FAB Online Banking is the web channel for managing accounts from a browser, with options on the login page to register, reset a forgotten password, or recover a locked account. Registering for it does not register you for the app automatically.

Online Banking transactions are approved in FAB Mobile, so the app has to be set up first with the Emirates ID and video selfie. Online payments are approved with a tap in the app, with no OTP.
