Business Bay Postal Code: What to Enter in Forms & Addresses

Business bay postal code

Business Bay has no postal code of its own. When a checkout or sign-up form refuses to continue without one, enter 00000.

What gets mail and parcels to the right tower is the rest of the address: a P.O. Box for Emirates Post mail, and the building name, street and a UAE phone number for couriers.

Entries that work in a postal code field

Enter 00000 first, try 99999 if the form rejects it, and use N/A only where the field accepts text.

Entry Use it when
00000 The field is required and numeric. This is the default.
99999 The form rejects five zeros.
N/A The field accepts text.
Blank The field is optional.

None of these changes where your parcel goes. Delivery follows the P.O. Box or the street address, so a placeholder only gets you past the form.

Why Business Bay has no postal code

The UAE routes mail by P.O. Box instead of area codes, so a box number does the job a postal code does elsewhere. Dubai has no official ZIP code for any area, and Business Bay follows the same rule.

Official forms follow the same logic. UAE government address forms collect the emirate, city, building, street, area and P.O. box, and treat the Makani number as an optional extra. A postal code field is not part of that in-country pattern.

Business Bay address by situation

What you write depends on who is delivering. The postal code field is the same in every case: 00000 if it is mandatory, nothing if it is not.

Situation What to fill in
Emirates Post mail & official letters Name or company, P.O. Box number, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Courier or food delivery Name, unit number, building name, street, Business Bay, Dubai, UAE mobile number
Online checkout from an international store Address lines, Business Bay as the area, Dubai as the city, 00000 as the postal code
UAE government forms Emirate, city, building, street, area and P.O. box, plus Makani if there is a field for it

Writing the address line by line

A Business Bay address needs seven parts, in this order:

  1. Recipient: the person or company name.
  2. Unit & building: the unit or office number and the tower’s name, such as Office 706, The Metropolitan Tower B.
  3. Street: the road the tower fronts, such as Marasi Drive, Al Abraj Street or Sheikh Zayed Road.
  4. Area: Business Bay.
  5. P.O. Box: your own box number, for Emirates Post mail only.
  6. Emirate & country: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
  7. Phone: an active UAE mobile number.

Put together, a courier address looks like this:

Layla Hassan
Office 706, The Metropolitan Tower B
Marasi Drive, Business Bay
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
+971 50 000 0000

For Emirates Post mail, add P.O. Box 12345 on its own line after the street.

Applicants need an Emirates ID and a UAE PASS login, must live in the UAE and must be at least 18. The online application takes about two minutes through the Emirates Post P.O. Box service, and contracts run from one to ten years.

A company applies for a corporate box with its trade licence and Emirates ID. On a personal box, each extra person authorised to collect mail adds AED 50.

The box does not have to sit near Business Bay. Emirates Post lets you choose a box at any of its locations, so no box number belongs to Business Bay itself.

Makani numbers for couriers

A Makani number is a 10-digit code from Dubai Municipality that points to a building entrance. It was launched in 2015 and is written as two groups of five digits, such as 30032 95320.

The number is printed on a plate at the entrance, and the Makani app and website return it from a building name or address. Business Bay packs many towers between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, so an entrance-level code saves a driver the phone call.

Add it wherever a form has a Makani field. It guides a driver to the door but does not route Emirates Post mail, so it sits beside the address and never replaces the P.O. Box.

Mistakes that delay deliveries

  • No phone number. Drivers in Business Bay call before they arrive, and a missing or foreign number stalls the delivery.
  • Only “Business Bay” in the address. The tower name and unit number are what the driver looks for.
  • A P.O. Box and nothing else. A box number has no street entrance, so a courier has nowhere to go.
  • Paying a fee through a message link. Emirates Post never asks for debit or credit card details by SMS, WhatsApp or email, so a message that does is a scam. Pay through the Emirates Post website or app only.

FAQ

What is the postal code of Business Bay?

Business Bay has no postal code. Enter 00000 when a form requires one, and rely on the P.O. Box or the building address for delivery.

Is 00000 a real postal code?

No. It is a placeholder that gets a form past validation. It plays no part in how mail or parcels are routed.

Do I need a P.O. Box to receive parcels in Business Bay?

No. Couriers deliver to the tower and unit using the building name, street and phone number. A P.O. Box is for Emirates Post mail and official letters.

Is the Makani number a postal code?

No. It is a 10-digit location code for a building entrance, and it helps drivers and navigation apps find the right door.

What is the P.O. Box number for Business Bay?

There is no shared one. Each person or company rents its own box, and the number on your subscription is the one that goes in your address.
