Rashidiya Postal Code for Mail & Deliveries

Rashidiya postal code for mail and deliveries

Al Rashidiya has no postal code, and neither does any other part of Dubai. When a checkout or registration form refuses to continue without a number, enter 00000.

Mail still reaches the neighbourhood through a different system. Letters go to P.O. Boxes rented from Emirates Post, while couriers find doors using a street address, a building number and a phone number they can call.

What to use for forms, mail & couriers

Use 00000 for postal code fields, a P.O. Box for letters, and a street address plus a mobile number for couriers.

Why Rashidiya uses P.O. Boxes instead of postal codes

Emirates Post sorts mail by P.O. Box number, not by a neighbourhood code. Rashidiya follows the same rule as the rest of the emirate, so there is no Dubai zip code to look up for it.

Letters are not dropped at front doors. Residents and companies rent a box at a post office branch and collect from it, or pay for a plan that delivers the contents to them.

Parcels from Aramex, DHL, FedEx and similar couriers sit outside that system. They run on the recipient’s physical address and a phone number, which is why the address you write depends on what you are expecting.

How to write a Rashidiya address

Address for letters

Put the box number on its own line under the recipient’s name:

Full name
P.O. Box 12345
Dubai
United Arab Emirates

The address needs no street or area line, because the box number is tied to the branch where it was rented.

Address for parcels

A courier address needs six pieces of information, in roughly this order:

  1. Full name, matching the order or the Emirates ID.
  2. A mobile number starting with +971 that takes calls, SMS or WhatsApp. Drivers phone ahead before they arrive.
  3. Villa or building name and number, plus floor or flat number if there is one.
  4. Street name or number in Al Rashidiya.
  5. Area and emirate: Al Rashidiya, Dubai.
  6. The building’s Makani number or a nearby landmark such as Rashidiya police station.

Makani numbers for Rashidiya deliveries

A Makani number is a 10-digit code that Dubai Municipality assigns to each building entrance, and it pins a delivery to within about a metre on a digital map. A villa has its own number on a plate at the gate, and an apartment tower uses the number of its main entrance.

Search the address on the Makani portal or in the free Makani app, and the entrance appears with its code. If the plate is missing, building security or reception can read the number out.

Makani helps a driver reach the door, but it does not route letters. It sits next to the address, not in the postal code field.

Renting a P.O. Box in Rashidiya

A personal P.O. Box costs AED 300 to AED 995 a year, plus a one-time AED 70 registration fee. Emirates Post sells three personal P.O. Box plans, all priced with VAT included.

Plan Price per year How mail reaches you
MyBox AED 300 You collect from a box at the branch you choose. One extra agent is included in the first year.
MyHome AED 695 Unlimited mail and parcels delivered to your home once a week. The box number is not tied to a branch.
MyHome Instant AED 995 Next-day home delivery, capped at 60 deliveries a year. One extra agent is included in the first year.

MyBox suits anyone who passes a branch regularly. MyHome suits someone who wants everything in one weekly drop. MyHome Instant suits time-sensitive mail, but a box that receives items daily will hit the 60-delivery cap within a couple of months.

Each extra agent who can collect on your behalf costs AED 50. Contracts run for 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 years, and you must be a UAE resident aged 18 or over with an Emirates ID.

To rent a box:

  1. Log in with UAE PASS on the Emirates Post website or in its app.
  2. Pick a plan. For MyBox, choose Al Rashidiya as the branch.
  3. Fill in the required details.
  4. Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. Cash is accepted only at a branch.
  5. Wait for the confirmation email, which arrives in a couple of minutes.

You can also walk into the Al Rashidiya Post Office with your Emirates ID and sign up at the counter.

Businesses rent corporate boxes instead. They start at AED 995 plus the AED 70 registration fee and need an Emirates ID and a trade licence.

Avoiding failed deliveries

Parcels delivered at a doorstep in Dubai

Most failed parcels in Rashidiya come down to a handful of address mistakes:

  • A P.O. Box line given as the only address. Couriers deliver to a physical address, so a box number alone gives them no place to go.
  • A missing or foreign phone number. Aramex, DHL and FedEx drivers call or message before delivering.
  • An empty postal code field. Many checkouts reject the order until it holds something, so enter 00000.
  • The wrong emirate. Ajman has Rashidiya districts of its own, so always write Dubai.
  • No Makani number or landmark where several villas look alike.

FAQ

What is the postal code of Al Rashidiya, Dubai?

Al Rashidiya has no postal code. Enter 00000 when a form requires digits, or N/A when it accepts text.

Is 500001 the postal code for Rashidiya?

No. Emirates Post does not issue postal codes in any emirate, so 500001 has no routing effect. Use 00000 when a form insists on a number.

Can I receive mail at home in Rashidiya?

Is a Makani number a postal code?

No. A Makani number is a 10-digit location code for a building entrance. It helps drivers find the door and is written alongside the address.

What is the country code for a Rashidiya address?

The country code is AE for the United Arab Emirates, and phone numbers start with +971.

Where is the Al Rashidiya Post Office?

It is on 33A Street in Al Rashidiya, next to Rashidiya police station. The phone number is 600 599 999.

  • Look up your building’s Makani number and keep it with your mobile number for courier orders.
  • Write Dubai as the emirate on every parcel address.
