Umm Al Quwain Zoo Tickets, Timings & Animals
A ticket to The Zoo Wildlife Park in Kabir costs AED 25 per person, paid at the gate by card or cash, and nobody needs to book ahead.
The park opens at 8:00 am every day and keeps tigers, lions and cheetahs alongside giraffes that visitors feed by hand. Closing time depends on the day of the week and the season, and a handful of encounters carry their own price.

A family of four (two adults and two children over 1) pays AED 100 at the gate before any extras. Entry plus a portion of feeding grass comes to AED 30 per person, and adding a camel ride and a horse ride lifts that to AED 50.
Opening hours by season
From October to June the park runs 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday to Sunday. From July to September the gates open later, at 3:30 pm.
| Period | Monday to Thursday | Friday to Sunday |
|---|---|---|

| July to September | 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm | 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm |
The park also opens on public holidays.
The later summer opening puts the visit after the hottest part of the day. From November to March the weather is mild enough for a morning start, and Friday to Sunday evenings suit families who would rather arrive once it has cooled down.
Animals you can see

The collection is built around big cats, primates, birds and hoofed animals, with giraffes as the main hands-on draw.
- Tigers, lions and cheetahs
- Striped hyenas
- Giraffes, fed over the enclosure fence
- Orangutans, including Habouba, the resident orangutan
- Baboons and lemurs
- Macaws, green parrots and vultures
- Snakes and tortoises
- Arabian oryx, camels, goats, ponies and donkeys
- Chinchillas
Giraffe feeding is the main draw, and the rest of the visit is a walk past enclosures, with open lawns where children can run around.
Feeding the giraffes & park rules
Grass for feeding is sold inside the park, and it is the only food the animals may be given. Three habits apply to every visitor:

- Feed only the grass sold at the park.
- Keep young children beside an adult while they feed.
- Wash your hands after feeding and before you eat.
Pets are not allowed inside. Leave dogs and cats at home, because a parked car in UAE heat is not safe for an animal.
Activities & extra costs
Entry covers the walk through the park. Feeding, rides and the closer encounters are priced separately, and two of them are free.
| Activity | Price |
|---|---|
| Grass for feeding | AED 5 |
| Camel ride | AED 10 |
| Horse ride | AED 10 |
| Lemur encounter | AED 20 |
| Tiger, lion or cheetah encounter | AED 200 |
| Tortoise encounter | Free |
| Habouba the orangutan | Free |
The big cat encounters are the one expensive item. At AED 200 each they cost eight times the entry fee, so they suit a single person who wants the photo more than a family budget for four.
Food and shopping are inside the gates: the Giraffe Café serves drinks and snacks, and the Flamingo Shop and Emu Shop sit within the park.
Getting to the zoo
The park is on The Zoo Street in Kabir, Umm Al Quwain, about 45 minutes by road from Dubai and about 40 minutes from Sharjah. Drivers from Dubai head north on the E11.
Drop the Google Maps pin for the entrance into your navigation app before leaving. Dreamland Aqua Park is close by.
School & group visits
Schools, clubs and community groups arrange visits in advance rather than turning up at the gate. Send your preferred date and numbers through the school & group enquiry form, which opens WhatsApp or email with the details filled in.
You can also call or WhatsApp +971 58 608 8888, or email info@thezoopark.com. School enquiries ask for the number of students and their grades, and group enquiries start from 10 people.
Is the zoo worth visiting?
For a half-day outing on a modest budget, yes. The strengths and trade-offs are clear:
Strengths
- A low flat entry fee with no booking.
- Hands-on giraffe feeding and free orangutan and tortoise encounters.
- Late closing on Friday to Sunday evenings.
Trade-offs
- Most of the walk is outdoors, so summer midday visits are uncomfortable.
- Extras add up quickly, and the big cat encounters sit far above the rest.
- A visit takes 2 to 3 hours, so a full day is more than you will need.
That leaves room to add a second stop nearby.

Nearby places to visit
- UAQ National Museum shows artefacts excavated at Ed-Dur.
- Dreamland Aqua Park is the nearest water park, a good swap for a hot afternoon.
- Mangrove Beach in Umm Al Quwain charges AED 40 per car and rents kayaks for a water-based second stop.
